"This Week in Science: Energy Transfer"

   This week in science we did a lot of new things.  For example we got new vocab words and we made a food chain.  Also we did a food pyramid based on our creatures that we picked.  And Lastly we had to make a model of it well both of them.  The food chain and the food pyramid it was really fun.
     We Learned new words that can help us in our everyday life.  For example we learned that the Producer is an organism that makes their own food like grass.  And we learned about primary consumers, secondary consumers, tertiary consumers, omnivore, herbivore, carnivore.  Too break it down  primary consumer,secondary consumer,tertiary consumers all go with each other like each one gives off energy to another organism. And lastly omnivore, herbivore, carnivore are certain types of animals.

This Week In Science

On the first day of this unit, we set up our blogs and created our first post. Our first post was called First Impressions. We wrote about our feelings on frogs and blogs. I did not know anything about a Frog i only seen them in movies.I did not know what the dissection would be like. On our second day, we finished fixing up our blogs and we updated our profiles. Then, in our notebooks, we wrote some cool facts that i didn't get to do yet but i will.I was very nervous! Once i saw the frogs insides I did not want to touch the frog at first, so I decided to be the Frogtographer and the Person who shows my group  what too do and touch. I had to take pictures of the dissection as we worked. On Thursday,we got to remove the organs and identify them on a Sheet. I was not scared anymore, and decided to try removing some organs with Jamilex and Chris.

     I learned that frogs have some organs like us humans do.  also i Learned that they don't have the best smell when their dead.  And I learned that they have a heart, lungs, liver, intestines, stomach, pancreas, and spleen.  They have other organs but those are unknown to us because we didn't find them.  I learned how to tell if a frog is a boy or a girl by looking at their thumbs.  If they have Fat and big ones their a boy.  We Named our frog So Many names i don't remember so I'm Going to name him Tommy.

First Impressions

     I Always Wanted To do Dissect some thing but never frogs but it should be cool.  I really can't wait to see what's inside the frog.  Do it have Parts like us Humans.  I really am looking forward to working with the frogs and examining their bodies.   I hope i don't get sick by looking at the insides.

My fantasy Habitat

what i did in science was great.  We had to pick a animal and learn things about them.  For example i picked a sea star(Kit-Kat).  And the star fish has many fascinated things about him that nobody knows like their are thousands of them in every ocean.  Also we had to make a picture of them and color it to show their habitat.
    We learned about different habitats. And we learned about different animals.  And how they live and what is surrounding them.  Also we learned what our animals eat for example star fish eat mussels, clams, and oysters.  They are really interesting creatures And i had a great learning experience Learning about them.
